Baseball.

In addition to soccer practice and games, Eli has baseball games twice a week.  Eli is opposite of Isabel in the fact that he is very competitive and hard on himself.  He loves to play and wants to be the best.  If he's not playing ball, he's watching it, reading it, or practicing it.  He's very focused and it's been fun to watch him.

 

Joel is helping coach.  I love that my boys can share their love of this sport together.  And that my son has such a wonderful father to look up to and learn from. 

 

 

We are lucky to have both sets of grandparents in town who are able to come to both baseball and soccer games and cheer on their grandkids.  {Thank you!!!}

Soccer.

I'm taking advantage of a very slow work day to update the blog.  Much is going on around here.  Spring soccer is almost over.  Just one more game left for AYSO and maybe one more travel team game too (which she is just helping the team out as they are short players right now).  Isabel LOVES to play soccer but definitely enjoys the recreational more than the competitive.  I loved playing sports and have a hard time not seeing her be more competitive and aggressive on the field.  For her, right now, it's just not who she is or what she wants to do.  But, she's happy and having fun and that's all that counts.  She continues to improve and has been a scoring machine lately.

Lakers, Yarn Pom Pom's, & Valentine's Decor.

A couple weekends ago, Joel took Eli to a Piston's/ Laker's game.  It was an early birthday present.  Eli was SO excited!!  Joel was functioning on very little sleep due to all of the snow plowing, but managed to squeeze in a few hours before waking up early for the 1:00 game.  Here are some pictures I took before my boys left and then ones Joel took at the game with his phone.  They had a great time!!!

While the boys were gone, Isabel and I made yarn Pom Pom garlands.  We had fun making them while watching some movies.

I don't usually do much valentine decor, but making those pom pom garlands got me putting up a few other things.  Here's what our house looks like all "decked" out for Valentine's Day:

Yup... that's it.  Simple and sweet.  :-)

Soccer & Singing.

Once again this fall, Izzy has participating in indoor soccer.  It has been such a great experience for her and we love the coach and team she is with.  She's learning and growing in her skills so much. 

The kids have continued to adjust so well to their new schools.  We are so happy that they have made new friends and have wonderful teachers!  Just recently Izzy had a school Christmas music performance.

Last weekend, we went to a college football game with some friends.  It was fun to be there as we saw some people we knew and it is our old stomping ground.  We enjoyed our time watching the game, eating kettle corn, and hanging out with friends.  They were giving away "thunder sticks" and "helmets."  Fun time!  Here are some pictures ... enjoy!

Little League.

Eli had an exciting year in Little League.  He moved up to the pitching machine from the tee.  It took a little bit of adjusting to the pitching machine and learning new positions, but Eli had a great time!  His team was called Blue Thunder.

Kids were encouraged to try each position.  

"Level swing and squish the bug."  Still working on the level swing.  Good thing his daddy knows a thing or 2 about baseball.

     

His favorite position was 1st base.  He most enjoyed batting.  And he always wore his sunglasses, because that's what everyone on the Tiger's wears. 

Soccer Season.

The kids recently finished their outdoor, fall soccer season.  We lucked out with pretty decent weather for their Saturday games.  They both continue to enjoy playing and are growing more skilled.  We have had wonderful coaches and this year was no different.  Isabel moved up to the U10 league, which means they play on a bigger field with a bigger goal, have a ref, penalties, etc.

We had some extra special visitors to cheer the kids on at their very last game... grandparents, aunts, uncle, and cousins!  (Thanks - the kids played to impress!)
