Sweet Deals!!!

For the past 2 months, I have been doing a lot of "couponing." I LOVE IT!!! We have shaved $20 off our weekly grocery budget. That means we'll be saving over $1000 a year! The neat part about it is that we haven't "missed" that extra $20 at all. We are still able to buy what we would have normally. And now we are able to get more for our money by using coupons, stacking coupons, shopping by the ad/sales, and stocking up when there's great buy. Anyway, I'm loving the challenge of staying under our new grocery budget and trying to get the most for the $.

This week Kmart is doubling their coupons, up to $2. I wasn't sure if I would do any shopping there this week since Kmart has some new "requirements" for doubling coupons and I don't typically shop at Kmart. But I couldn't resist... and it was well worth it!

For my first trip to Kmart (yes, I made 2!) I bought the following:

I spent a grand total of $8.25. Not too bad, I thought. (I paid only $.90 for all 4 boxes of cheerios! WOW)

I decided to make one more stop...

I was pretty excited when I grabbed my cart and saw a $3.00 Kmart coupon sitting on the bottom...carelessly left behind. Sweet! Anyway, I only spent $2.00!!! But, the best part is yet to come. I really didn't need the band-aids and only bought them to meet my $25 Kmart total. Well, I met the total w/o the band-aids, so I returned them today and got $2.09 back! Unbelievable. I made sure that the customer service lady knew that I had used a coupon when I bought them, and she checked it out, but said that was my refund. So, I actually got the above for FREE and also got $.09 back. Very cool! I was super excited and wanted to share. :-)
