The last part of our first full day in Cali was to visit the well known landmark in San Francisco, the Golden Gate Bridge. Wow, it was a little surreal to see this amazing, beautiful, bridge.
Sitting with my beautiful sisters... we had lots of nice strangers offering to take pictures with our cameras when they saw us trying to do it on our own. I'm so glad that there are a lot of pictures with us all in it.
We walked across part of it. You could feel it swaying. So cool! It is a suspension bridge approximately 1.7 miles long.
The incredible view from the bridge looking at the "city."
Sailboats dot the San Francisco Bay.
Ugh...on the way up the trail to reach the bridge, we came across this banana slug. My sister said they can be even bigger than this!
What a wonderful first day we had in California!!! Thanks for taking us around LB!

Wow Gretchen! I am loving looking at your pictures. I LOVE that first one. Looks like such an amazing trip! I was meaning to ask you about it when we ran into you guys. What a great get away.
That was just a baby banana slug. ;)
Well, you REALLY know how to document a trip! Your pictures are MUCH better than mine. But, was there really ever any question of that? He, he, he!
I just showed Jeff mine, but now I am going to make him look at your blog, too. Love ya!
It is so FUN to see your wonderful trip documentation...and to be able to share with the 3 of you the same fabulous sights and experiences that we had with Lis just a few weeks earlier! A treasure trove of memories forever!
Love, Mom
