Happy Birthday!

Every year I think I say, I can't believe Izzy/ Eli is _____ years old!  And yet, the years keep rolling by, not stopping or slowing down for a mama's desire to keep her kids young.  Every age/ year seems to bring about a new set of challenges and triumphs.  But, there is no greater than joy than being a parent!!  And so, we celebrated another year, another birthday this weekend... Isabel turned 8!!!  And while I might not be ready for her to grow up, she is.  :-)

We had a wonderful weekend celebration.
Friday night, we went out to dinner (Izzy's choice) and then helped her pick out her birthday present from us... a new Bible!  She loves her new Bible... taking it with her, reading it to Eli.  We hope she continues to keep the love, excitement and joy of Jesus in her heart, forever & always.

Saturday we also went out to lunch with some friends after Joel's basketball game.  (I told Joel this could be my birthday meal.)  We had a fairly relaxing day and let Izzy pick out some games for us all to play.

Sunday we had family over for pizza and ice cream sundaes.  We had fun... Izzy felt special.  (And for those of you who know us well, eating out 3 times in one weekend, much less one week, is unheard of!)

Here are some pictures of Izzy's birthday weekend:

Notice the candle stuck in a Little Debbie zebra cake.  Hey, since we didn't have birthday cake, we had to put the candle somewhere.  It worked and she didn't mind a bit.

Rawley was a big hit too!!!

Eating out 3 times in the same weekend is a little nuts for dutch folk. You must've gotten a funny gene. Pics are great. Rawley's getting big!!
