Lego Organization...

We love legos over here!  And, it seems like every Christmas and on birthday's we collect more.  I honestly don't think you can have too many legos.  They allow your child to express their creativity and imagination and are just plain fun, for everyone!

The kids received 3 new lego kits this Christmas and the plastic bin we store legos in just isn't big enough.  So ... I got organized!

First of all I went to Google Images and found a picture for every "kit" we own.  Then I printed and cut them out, glued them onto cardstock and laminated them.

Next I attached the new tags to a bin.  Instead of searching through hundreds of lego pieces when we are trying to put together the combine, house, or firestation, now they are all in one spot.

The picture shows exactly what kit is in the bin and what it should look like when you are done.

In the bin below, I added the tractor too.  Same category... The tractor legos are in a baggie tho.

I found the bins and shelf at Target, on sale.  We put it in E's closet.  I'm sure that we'll continue to add on to our collection, in which case I plan to use clear plastic containers and stack them on top of this shelf unit, labeled with a picture to show what's in the bin.

While I was printing out the google images, I decided to print a couple for some toy bins under E's bed.

More legos... miscellaneous pieces... not kits...

and matchbox cars!

Now each bin is clearly labeled and easy to grab.

How do YOU organize your LEGOS?  I'd love to know!
