Re-Organizing - Part 1

'Tis the season for re-organizing and I'm on a roll!

I decided to tackle our large assortment of kids games this week.  We've got a lot!  Six Memory games, yes six ... but I put one in the donate/sell pile.  :-)  Honestly, we play a lot of memory here and I'd have to say that each memory game gets its fair share of play time.

So, let's begin...
This is where we used to keep the games.... in our large, walk-in closet in our half bath.  But this closet was getting a little cramped and stored not only games but a hodge podge of other stuff... scrap booking stuff, light bulbs, storage boxes, vacuum, etc.

We "finished" our basement stairway landing this past fall.  (I can't find the before pictures anywhere... grrr!)
I painted the stairs and walls,  J cut a large carpet rug to fit in the landing, we moved in a cute pink, antique cupboard my parents gave us, and hung up a bulletin board.  (This landing area also serves as our mudroom in the winter.)

I decided to empty out the pink cupboard with what I previously stored in there and put all the kids toys in it.  It's a perfect fit!

The walls now serve as a great spot to display school art work and other things they bring home or work on with me.  I just use that gray sticky stuff to attach the artwork, etc. to the walls.  I love looking at all their work.  The basket in the corner holds shoes.  I have some jars of pencils, glue sticks, ribbon, and embroidery string on top of the cupboard.

Here's a view from the bottom of the stairs looking up to the landing.  The kids hang their backpacks and winter gear on the pegs on the right side of the wall and we have a Michigan and United States maps on the left.

I really love this little spot in my house.

Next up... the re-organized half bath, walk- in closet.  Stay tuned.
