*** I dedicate this post to my Mom and Laura. They have been asking to see what we've done with our IKEA purchases. :-) ***
Over Spring Break, I mentioned that the kiddos and I went to IKEA with my mom. (I love that place!) Some of the things I picked up were the Billy Bookcases. We got 3 bookcases, with plans to screw them together to make one large, custom looking bookcase. I got this idea from the blog called IHeartOrganizing. (Very neat blog! Check it out to get more details on how we made our bookcase.)
Anyhow... here is the space before we put in the new bookcase:
We've had the red benches/ end tables for a while now. My dad made them and I painted them. They have come is so handy and have been used all over the house.
And here it is with the new bookcase (we screwed the 3 bookcases together, put MDF board on top, and added trim to the top and bottom):
It isn't finished quite yet. We have some finishing touches to do but are very happy with the outcome! I'm sure that I will be rearranging the shelves often too. :-)
Just for fun, here are a couple other shots of our living room. I do love this room. It gets a lot of light and I love the splashes of red throughout. I may have finally gotten the LR how I want it!
The yellow pillow is from Target and I love the color! We moved one of the red benches over too. It's holding a wire basket I found in the garage. :-)
And here's the beloved chalkboard. I love seeing this when I walk in the door!
