Ludington, Michigan

I've lived in Michigan for the past 16 years - Joel grew up here.  In all this time, we've never really explored the beauty Michigan has to offer.  We'd like to try to visit a new place each summer... there's so much to see and do here! 

We've been lucky to have thoughtful friends invite us to Ludington the past 2 years.  It's a great place to vacation.  This visit found us spending most of our time just relaxing on the beach at the Ludington State Park on Lake Michigan.  While it was not overly warm, it was sunny and comfortable.  The kids loved playing on the beach and in the water.  The highlight was being able to cross the river and play on the other side of the beach.

And, if you are ever able to visit Ludington, here are some of our favorite things that we would recommend:

Place to Eat:  Luciano's (delicious pizza!)

Best Ice Cream: House of Flavors (homemade waffle cones are the best!)

Best Attraction:  watching the Badger come in.

Best Beach:  Ludington State Park (also offers some cool walking trails and lighthouses to see)
