Self Portraits
After explaining to the kids what a self portrait is, they got started sketching their portrait in pencil while looking in a mirror.
I love 'em! Isn't homemade kids art just the best?!
{We used 11 x 14 thin canvas, which I got in a 3 pack on clearance at Michael's.}

here's an idea: enlarge a photo of each of their faces... then draw lines on the photo to create a grid of squares... then draw lines on the canvas with the same number of squares (just bigger), and they can do one square at a time...
do you know what i mean? it can really help them hone their skills. :)
