Happy Birthday {10}.

It completely blows my mind that my baby girl just turned 10.... T-E-N!!!  Wow!  I can still clearly remember the day she was born... took us by surprise by coming 2 weeks early.  I was teaching and not prepared for her early arrival.  I still had report cards to finish and lesson plans to prepare.  But, she was ready and our life as parents began on that cold January early morning.  And never has there been a better blessing than the title of Mom.

Since Izzy was turning the big 1-0 this year, we wanted to make it fun and memorable for her.  So, for the 10 days leading up to her birthday, she had a little note and something special each afternoon to look forward to.

Day 10:  Her favorite snack.

Day 9: Playing her favorite game.

Day 8:  Gift Card to her favorite store.

Day 7: Favorite dinner.

Day 6:  Breakfast at a restaurant of her choice.

Day 5:  Pack of her favorite gum.
Day 4:  Dog puzzle.
Day 3: Special homemade mug.

Day 2:  Chocolate!

Day 1:  Family Party!!!!

She awoke to streamers and balloons.

A family dinner of homemade pizza, fresh fruit and cupcakes.

Yummy cupcakes!

Gifts!

A surprise gift in the basement...

A huge dollhouse for her Calico Critters.  I found it at a garage sale for $8 this summer (they sell at Hobby Lobby starting at $100!).  I spray painted the inside white and added scrapbook paper to the walls.  She loved it!

It was a wonderful celebration!

Then we got to celebrate with the family just a few days later.

{Look at these good looking guys!  Great Grandpa, Uncle D., Grandpa D. and Grandpa B.}

We surprised Izzy with the cake too... she didn't know that it was a tie dye cake!  Cool!

And then some gifts.  She received some great things and was so excited for this day.  A big THANK YOU to our family who helped celebrate this fantastic girl!
