Summer Art Project for Mom!

Here's another project to try.  Once again I cannot take credit for this idea... I need to thank my cousin Jenny.  She made these for family as Christmas gifts one year.

I didn't take many pictures of this project, unfortunately.
You first need some scrap wood, whatever size you want but long enough for your last name.  Paint this a color of your choice...not too dark tho.  Then you will use a different color to paint your last name.

After you've patiently let this dry, you will then use a third color of paint and write out a favorite Bible verse.

Choose your colors wisely, so that they all show up well.  I wish that I had used red for my last name and black for the verse, because I think the verse would have shown up better.  But, I am not going to do it again anytime soon...plus I really like it now that I've had a chance to get used to it.

Here's another one that I did to give you an example of paint colors.  (Actually, this is on the other side of my new one!)

My "new" board is hanging in my kitchen and I really love it! I love the colors and the verse. I'd love to see yours if you try it!!
