Summer Art Project Number 3

Fireworks!
I found the idea for Art Project #3 from my friend Theresa's blog.  (Click on her name on the right to check out her great blog!)  This project is called "Fireworks" and was geared for the 4th of July, but we just did it today!  The kids had a lot fun doing it.

First, you need to take a small amount of different colored acrylic paints and put them into cups.  Add a little water to each to give it a watery consistency, but not too watery.

Next, your little artists take a paint brush and dab a dot of their desired color onto a piece of paper/ card stock.  Then they take a straw and blow the paint around on their paper.

The idea is that the straw splattered paint looks like fireworks.
Whether it does or doesn't, who cares, the kids had fun!
