Swimming Lessons!

In mid July, the kids took 2 weeks of swimming lessons.  They were both in the same class, Advanced Beginner.  There were 5 kids and 2 instructors- a great ratio!  Eli had to work extra hard as he was too "advanced" for the beginner class, but probably not quite ready for the advanced beginner class ... the instructor said he was the hardest working swimmer she had had in those two weeks.  Way to go bud... made me proud of my guy.  :-)  The lessons were in a backyard pool during 2 of the hottest weeks of July.  It was perfect weather for lessons.  Parents were not allowed to stay, but were invited to come on the last day for a presentation.  Here are a few snapshots from that day.

My water bugs!
These kids LOVE the water, which is wonderful since we love to be by it.  They have taken lessons for 3+ years now and can both swim without any ":floatation devices."  Izzy is starting to learn different swim strokes and techniques.

Eli is not wearing the floaties- they are tied together and used as "wings."

Free Time!

Group shot of the class.

This is what the sky looked like at the start of the lessons... beautiful with the sun streaming through the clouds.
