Mommy and daddy bird... they are house finches.
We started with 6 eggs, but one baby bird died, and one egg fell out of the nest and cracked. That left us with four.
one baby...
two babies...
That was all.
The other 2 eggs did not hatch. Boo! :-(
But we had a great time watching these 2 babies grow!
You could find always find one of us checking on them.
And they grew and grew and grew...
and one day they were G-O-N-E!
What a neat thing to watch!
Although, I hope they don't build a nest here again next year. It was messy and the mommy and daddy bird were so easily spooked, which put the eggs in danger of falling out.

nice documentation! it's so cool that you (and especially the kids) could follow the whole process from beginning to end. and how crazy that with all of the other trees in the area, they chose your wreath! :)
