Special lunch.

Last week my Mom brought my Grandparents over for lunch.  It had been too long since I had seen them and they wanted to see the new house.  It was such a pleasant visit!  We had a simple lunch of grilled cheese and  tomato soup.  They stayed and chatted and were even able to see the kids once they got home from school.

I like to think that I have a special relationship with my Grandparents.  I moved to Michigan from Massachusetts to go to college and lived with them for 4 years.  While I wasn't always the perfect house guest, I did get to spend some quality time with them during those years.  They always made me feel comfortable and loved and I have some great memories of the time I lived with them.

They are starting to age, my Grandpa more than Grandma, and I want to make sure I capture more of these specials times together.  They are so cute together and love each other deeply.  They held hands and hugged and smiled and laughed.  They just recently celebrated 63 years of marriage too!!!

I love that my kids know their great Grandparents.  They have 5 kids (my Mom is the oldest), 15 grandkids, and 18 great grandkids.  How cool is that?!  They love their family and have always played an active roll in our lives.  For my family, that meant traveling to see us in different states, watching our sporting events, and celebrating birthdays and holidays.

Thank you Mom and Dad for instilling the value of family and giving us opportunities to spend with our Grandparents.  Love you G & G!
