Before we went trick or treating on halloween, we went to our church "Fallapalooza" with good friends over the weekend. The kids enjoyed some trunk or treating, game playing, and wagon riding. Since I refuse to put much money into this "holiday," the kids had to come up with a costume from stuff at home. Easy peasy! Eli was Calvin Johnson, a Detroit Lions football player (for the 2nd year in a row), and Izzy was a soccer player.

Waiting for our turn on the wagon ride.
And since that wasn't enough fun (wink wink) and because it's become tradition, we had our other good friends over for pizza and trick or treating in the 'hood on halloween. It was cold, windy, and wet. We all bundled up and the kids got lots of (good) candy.
**Side note, my hubby did not trick or treat as a kid. He would participate in his church's roller skating party. I love that idea! I did get to trick or treat but could never keep all my candy or eat as much as I wanted. Boo! But after a couple more days, I'm taking all my kids candy away too. ha ha! End side note.**
Joel and I were pressured to dress up. One of us was very excited about this, the other not so much. But we found some things at Salvation Army and Dollar Tree the day before. Ta da...
I'm an old lady in her housecoat, glasses, and shower cap.
Joel is wearing a camo sleeper.
We both look hot, don't ya think?!
Here are our dear friends, the Penzotti's. Great costumes! Jeff did a superb Russian accent!

It was a fun night! Thanks for the good conversation, fun time, and laughs Penzotti's!

with joel's affinity for dressing up in women's attire, i'm going to guess you were the one who didn't want to wear a costume. ;-)
You all look great! What a fun time you had - it brings back so many memories - and sure wish we had hung on to those dear little clown costumes!
Hugs, grb
