Sometimes being the new person can be tough. I've had a little taste here and there what that feels like since our move a couple of months ago. It's not always easy, but I know I need to give it more time. Thankfully our kids have adjusted well and seem to be thriving! I'm so grateful for that. This whole being new thing isn't new to me either. Heck, I'm a military brat and have moved around my fair share. I think the hardest move for me was when we went from a small, country town in NC to a huge city near Miami. Wow- talk about culture shock! Everything was different... the way people talked, their language, how they dressed, and what they did for "fun." It didn't help that I was going into 8th grade either. But I survived then and made some great friends. Change can be tough. But through it all I am thankful for my constants... God and family. I love talking to God throughout the day... he brings me peace and comfort.
Moving on.... happy halloween. Actually I don't really like halloween. It is probably my least favorite "holiday." The kids are both having halloween parties at school and *gasp* they are actually being called that instead of fall or festival parties. Tonight Joel and I will dress up too. Nothing too crazy. Not super excited about it but our friends have put the pressure on us. Oh well, at least I'll be warm! :-)
Have you started your Christmas shopping? I started finding things this summer at garage sales that I knew would be good to give at Christmas or winter birthdays and have set them aside. I'm desiring to keep things low key this year.
Alright, enough rambling. Have a warm day!

Well, you know i can DEFINITELY relate on being the new person. Hang in there. It will get better. <3 And, I learned something new about you!! I didn't know you didn't like Halloween! Must've been the trauma from dressing up like a clown 10 years in a row... Bahaha... Like your costumes. I, for one, am very happy you dressed up. :-) If I hadn't been on duty, I would've been a loofah again this year.
Love you! xox LB
No matter how near or far, a move adjustment takes more time than we ever think it will, even with all our family past experiences. Happily, "Family" makes it easier to go through and in time, the new place always becomes "Home".
Love you! grb
