A Little of This, A Little of That...

Happy Summer!!!
We've been having a wonderful break from school and enjoying our summer break so far.  It's hard for me to believe that it is almost July 1st!  Here's a little of what's been going on in our lives.

Poison Ivy...ugh!
Both Joel and Eli got a nice dose of some poison ivy.  Joel tends to pick this up at least once a summer due to his line of work.  This is Eli's first time with it tho, but he hasn't complained at all!  We think he may have picked it up in on my parent's property, heavily surrounded by woods.  It looks quite ugly and is annoyingly itching.  I have a bad childhood memory of getting it on my face, so I am quite paranoid of getting it.
Joel got it on his arms, legs, stomach... Eli got it on his face, neck, arms...  Good news is that it looks like it is finally starting to dry up.  Thank goodness.  I hope that's all for the summer!

Sailing!
Grandpa D. took the kids sailing in his little boat this weekend.  They loved it!!!

Boot Reer!!!  (Yes, it's spelled right.)
Joel's Dad makes his own, homemade root beer, which is called "Boot Reer" by the family.  It's tradition to make it for the 4th of July weekend.

D. I. Y. Project
I can't take credit for this DIY project idea, but I love it.  I bought a pack of cork board squares, which came with adhesive, and put them on the inside of the door to my pantry.  It seems like we always have papers, calendars, artwork and more and this has worked out well to post important things.  The 4 pack of cork board came from Target for approximately $6.

My NEW "Office"
We had a small section in our master bedroom that was perfect for a little office area for me.  The desk fits great (from Target) and holds my computer and printer perfectly.  Joel hung up some wall shelves (also from Target) above it.  I love it!!!  I plan to paint the stool (turquoise maybe?) and still have to set the clock.  And the cool thing is that our Internet speed is faster upstairs than down, where we used to keep the computer.  Yahoo!

Well, that's another random blog post from me.  What's new with you?

I love everything! The little sailboat (what fun for the grandchildren), the July 4th Boot Reer, the cork boards and new desk area. I am so sorry about Eli's poison ivy...and guess he will not be helping Grampa in the yard next time!

Love you! Mom

Love the new office as well - what a cozy nook for being productive. The kids can play just down the hall within earshot. Um, don't worry about getting poisin ivy from the boys. I was told that you can only get it from the oil on the plant, not from the, excuse the descriptiveness, oozy blisters. Enjoyed the post!
