Surprise!!!

As I mentioned in my previous post (see below if you haven't), my younger sister, Elisabeth, flew in from Cali to surprise my parents and older sister, Kate, this week.  It was so much fun to see and hear everyone's reactions!!  Thanks for asking me to help you with this Lis... it was a highlight of the week.  :-)

Lis flew in late Monday night and I picked her up from the airport.  No one except Joel and I knew she was coming.  In fact, she was able to surprise the kids in the morning too.  We headed over to my parents house expecting to surprise our Mom.  But mom wasn't home.  So, we surprised our Dad first.

Dad's response was great!!!  He started to lift the comforter out of the back of the van (Lis was under it) and then jumped back saying "gee williker."  Then he just stood there, shocked I think, staring at Lis.  Hilarious!!

Next up was Kate.  She was in the shower when we first arrived and didn't even know Lis was here.  We tried the same "surprise tactic."  Kate started to lift up the comforter, saw a blond head, and then stepped back saying "What is wrong with this family?!"  (My family likes to surprise people.  My brother and sister- in-law surprised us showing up one Thanksgiving 5 months pregnant!!)

Then my brother-in-law Jeff and nephew Sam got back.
Sammy's response was classic... he opened up the basement door, saw aunt Lis, and said "oh, hey" in his cute southern draw.

We got Jeff  next, he opened the door and had a great look on his face when he saw Lis...

Finally Mom got home.  Sammy asked her for something from the pantry.  (We were all in the kitchen watching her.)  She opened up the pantry door, started to reach in and then saw Lis!  I love her surprised look in the first picture below.  She was so happy!!!
